In order to go all out for trust, Qianxun helped build the first substation indoor UAV intelligent inspection project

Release time:September 30, 2024

In order to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid, the inspection of power facilities has long relied on manual work, which is heavy in workload, low in efficiency and high in risk. Especially in the indoor inspection of substation, due to the narrow space, dense equipment, complex environment, and even the possibility of no GPS signal, traditional inspection methods such as cameras and orbital robots have the problem that the inspection Angle cannot be fully covered. In order to solve these problems, Qianxun technology and customers actively explore drone inspection technology, and the first project has been successfully landed and put into use.

Thousands of patrol solutions

This project realizes the autonomous inspection of the indoor environment of the substation without GPS signal, and the micro-UAV and hangar system that actively avoids obstacles. It has the capability of autonomous flight, automatic homing and automatic charging, and supports the functions of real-time three-dimensional navigation and data acquisition. Under the condition of ensuring safety, the automatic inspection goal of unmanned intervention is achieved, and manual operation time is greatly reduced.

Substation indoor UAV inspection system mainly includes indoor intelligent small hangar, UAV, liDAR module, flight control server and other parts. Based on LiDAR, SLAM technology is used to carry out accurate positioning and navigation of UAV in indoor environment, and local path planning and calculation are carried out according to LiDAR range-finding information, so as to realize autonomous obstacle avoidance and flying function of UAV.

Through the pre-planned indoor inspection route, the UAV can automatically perform inspection tasks. The intelligent small hangar is used for the storage, release, return to the nest and charging of the UAV. At the same time, the UAV can return and store the flight picture in real time during the inspection task, and support the setting of the shooting Angle and shooting action, and finally upload the high-definition photos taken to the flight control server when returning to the nest.

The flight control management background of indoor UAV is deployed in the flight control server. Based on the flight control management background, the data collected by the UAV can be connected with the business system, so as to realize the joint handling of the indoor UAV inspection business side.

Project effect

Inspection objects: equipment appearance, voltage/ammeter, status indicator, transformer (reactor) sound, secondary screen cabinet, equipment and joint temperature measurement, substation perimeter, entrance and exit, master control room, battery room, protection room, fire room, cable layer, etc.

Inspection results: It only takes 15 minutes to complete all inspection tasks, and compared with traditional manual inspection, the indoor UAV autonomous inspection time is reduced by more than 80%.
